Our Mission
To provide unshakeable digital foundations for the world's most ambitious companies. We believe that infrastructure should be invisible—flawless, silent, and always available.
History
ShieldHost began in Erkelenz, Germany, as a boutique hosting provider for local industrial giants. Since then, we have expanded into a pan-European leader in managed cloud and dedicated infrastructure, never losing our focus on technical precision.
Our Team
Every rack we run is maintained by in-house German systems engineers — not a subcontracted call center. From network architects to security analysts, our team combines decades of enterprise infrastructure experience with a genuine passion for keeping things running quietly in the background.

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of VPS hosting, dedicated servers, enterprise cloud, managed IT, backup, and cyber security services by ShieldHost GmbH to its customers. By placing an order or signing a service agreement with us, you accept these terms in full.
Services provided by ShieldHost GmbH are subject to a 99.9% network uptime SLA, measured on a monthly basis. Scheduled maintenance windows are announced at least 48 hours in advance via email and are excluded from SLA calculations. Where the SLA is not met, eligible customers may request service credits as detailed in their individual service agreement.
Billing cycles are monthly unless otherwise agreed in writing. Invoices are due within 14 days of issue. Dedicated server and enterprise cloud contracts may include a minimum term as specified in the individual service agreement; VPS hosting is available on a rolling monthly basis with no long-term commitment unless a discounted annual plan is selected.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts engaged in illegal activities, network abuse, spam distribution, distribution of malware, or any activity that threatens the stability or security of our infrastructure or that of other customers. Suspected abuse is investigated promptly, and customers are notified wherever possible before suspension.
You retain full ownership of all data you store on our infrastructure. Upon termination of services, we retain a final backup of your data for 14 days to allow for recovery requests, after which it is permanently and securely deleted from all systems.
ShieldHost GmbH's liability is limited to the fees paid for the affected service in the month in which the claim arose, except in cases of intent or gross negligence, or where mandatory German law provides otherwise. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of profit or business opportunity.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. Customers will be notified of material changes at least 30 days in advance via the email address on file.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. ShieldHost GmbH · OIDTMANNHOF 101, 41812 Erkelenz, Germany
Our Virtual Private Servers are built on enterprise-grade KVM virtualization with dedicated resource allocation — no noisy neighbors, no oversold hardware. Every VPS runs on NVMe flash storage for exceptional I/O performance, giving development teams the agility to spin up environments in minutes.
Because each VPS is a fully isolated virtual machine with its own kernel, you get the same freedom as a dedicated server — install any Linux distribution or Windows Server edition, run custom kernel modules, or containerize your workloads with Docker and Kubernetes — without the hardware footprint or cost of bare metal.
Every plan includes a private network interface for secure inter-server communication, a free out-of-band rescue console for emergency access, and hourly incremental snapshots stored on a separate storage cluster so a single hardware fault never puts your data at risk. Resource upgrades — CPU, RAM, or disk — are applied live via our control panel or API, typically with zero downtime.
Typical Use Cases
Web and application hosting, staging and CI/CD runners, self-hosted databases, VPN and proxy endpoints, and small to mid-size SaaS backends that need predictable, dedicated performance without a long-term hardware commitment.
When performance cannot be shared, our single-tenant bare metal servers deliver the full power of the hardware to your workload alone. Built on the latest Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC platforms, our dedicated servers are the backbone for databases, ERPs, and high-traffic applications.
Every dedicated server is racked, cabled, and burn-in tested in our own facilities before it is handed over to you, and remains physically isolated for the life of your contract — no shared hypervisor, no neighbor workloads competing for I/O or network bandwidth. You choose the exact CPU, RAM, storage, and RAID configuration, and our engineers deploy it to your specification, typically within 24 hours.
Remote IPMI/KVM access means you can reinstall the operating system, monitor hardware sensors, or recover from a boot failure without ever needing physical access to the data center. Optional add-ons include additional IP ranges, private VLANs between multiple servers, and hardware firewalls for compliance-sensitive workloads.
Typical Use Cases
High-transaction databases, ERP and CRM systems, latency-sensitive trading or gaming platforms, and any workload with strict data-residency or performance-isolation requirements.
Our Enterprise Cloud combines the flexibility of the public cloud with the compliance and control of German-owned infrastructure. Auto-scaling compute clusters span multiple EU regions, so your applications stay fast and available even under unpredictable demand.
Built on a distributed hypervisor fabric with redundant storage replicas, every virtual machine you provision is automatically distributed across multiple physical hosts, so a single hardware failure never causes downtime. Our software-defined networking layer lets you build isolated VPCs, subnets, and security groups exactly as you would on a major public cloud — but with your data staying inside German and EU borders at all times.
Scale horizontally with a few clicks or a single API call: add compute nodes during peak traffic and scale back down automatically once demand subsides, paying only for what you actually consume. For teams already invested in AWS or Azure, our hybrid connectors let you extend workloads seamlessly without re-architecting existing pipelines.
Typical Use Cases
SaaS platforms with variable traffic, microservice architectures, big-data and analytics pipelines, and regulated workloads that require EU data residency alongside cloud-scale elasticity.
Let our engineers carry the operational burden. From proactive monitoring to emergency incident response, our Managed IT service gives you a dedicated account manager and direct access to the people who built your infrastructure — never a call center.
Our operations team watches every server around the clock using a combination of automated alerting and human review, catching issues like disk pressure, memory leaks, or abnormal traffic patterns before they become outages. When something does need attention, tickets go straight to the engineer who knows your environment, not a generic support queue.
Beyond day-to-day monitoring, our team can take on full lifecycle management: OS and security patching on a schedule that fits your change windows, capacity planning ahead of seasonal traffic spikes, and hands-on migration support when you need to move from another provider or restructure your existing stack.
Typical Use Cases
Businesses without an in-house systems administration team, organizations undergoing a data center or cloud migration, and any team that wants senior-level infrastructure expertise without the overhead of a full-time hire.
Data loss is not an option. Our backup and disaster recovery service automatically encrypts and replicates your data to a second German location, with granular restore points so you can recover exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
Backups run on an independent schedule from your production workload, using block-level incremental snapshots so only changed data is transferred after the initial full copy — keeping backup windows short even for large datasets. Every backup is encrypted both in transit and at rest with keys that never leave our infrastructure, and integrity-checked automatically to catch silent corruption before you ever need to restore.
For databases and transactional applications, we support application-consistent snapshots that pause writes momentarily to guarantee a restore point is never left in a half-written state. Our team can also help design a full disaster-recovery runbook, including recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) tailored to your business requirements.
Typical Use Cases
Regulatory-driven data retention, ransomware recovery planning, protection against accidental deletion, and business continuity for any workload where downtime or data loss carries real financial risk.
Threats evolve constantly, and so do we. Our Cyber Security service wraps your infrastructure in layered defenses — from network-edge DDoS scrubbing to application-level firewalls — backed by regular audits from certified security engineers.
Traffic entering our network first passes through always-on volumetric DDoS scrubbing capable of absorbing multi-gigabit attacks before they ever reach your server. Behind that, a managed stateful firewall and intrusion detection system watches for suspicious patterns in real time, while our Web Application Firewall filters common exploitation attempts such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting at the HTTP layer.
Beyond perimeter defense, our security engineers conduct scheduled penetration tests against your public-facing infrastructure, manage SSL/TLS certificate issuance and renewal so encryption never lapses, and produce compliance-ready audit reports for standards such as GDPR and ISO 27001 alignment.
Typical Use Cases
E-commerce and payment platforms, public APIs exposed to the internet, healthcare and financial services with strict compliance obligations, and any business that has previously experienced a DDoS attack or security incident.
